FAQ's
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
01
How do I book for my wedding / bridal services?
I’d love to set up a quick bridal consultation with you! You can easily find my availability by visiting the "Bridal" tab on my website and clicking "Bridal Consultation." From there, you’ll see all available dates and times for a quick call. This consultation will help guide your decision moving forward. Looking forward to chatting with you soon!
02
How can I book my hair trial?
I perform all bridal trails in my salon located at Phenix Salon Suites in Minnetonka, MN. You can call/text or book online. I highly recommend booking your trial runs 2-4 months from your wedding date.
03
What should I bring to my hair trial?
Yourself, any accessories, makeup, hair extensions, and/or a veil or hair pieces if you're considering wearing any. Maybe Mom, sister or a girlfriend for encouragement and giggles - mostly giggles.
04
Is there a price difference between hairstyles?
No. I charge one flat rate per service. I spend extra time on setting, and ensuring curls are going to last for an entire wedding day. I charge for a combination of my time, value and experience, and not for which hairstyle you choose.
05
Should I get extensions for my wedding day?
The short answer is extensions add so much fullness and make everything more amazing. The long answer is, it really depends on the look and style you're going for on wedding day, and what type of hair you already have to work with. In general, most of the big, boho braids and down styles you see on pinterest & on instagram involve some type of extensions. So unless you're naturally blessed by the hair gods in both length and thickness, you'll most likely need some artificial help to acheive that specific look. For many updos, extensions aren't always necessary.
06
Should I come with Clean or Dirty Hair?
Please come to your appointment with CLEAN, DRY HAIR. You may even part your hair the direction you desire to be ready for me to style. If you know for a fact you don't have oily hair, day old hair is fine. But any natural oil/grease at the scalp is extremely difficult to work with. I can always make clean hair dirty but it's harder to make dirty hair clean in a time crunch.
07
How should I prep my hair for wedding day?
This varies for each person, depending on hair type. If you have fine hair that doesn't hold a curl well, it's best to prep with a volumizing foam. If you have extremely curly or highly textured hair, & you know you'd like it smoothed out for the big day, it's best to get a blow out the day prior. We will discuss a customized plan for your hair prep at your trial.
08
When should the bride get their hair done on wedding day?
Preferrably not first, and not last. Somewhere in the middle is great! I always plan an hour for my brides. If possible, it's best to have makeup done first, so your makeup artist won't have to be so careful not to ruin the hair when applying airbrush and moving hair out of your face, etc. We can always trade ladies in and out too, to make sure the bride is done by a designated time for pictures. For example, if I have a bridesmaid in my chair, and we need to get started on the bride in order to have her finished by a specific time, we can flip-flop, and then return to doing the bridesmaid's hair after the bride is all finished being glammed up!
09
How long does hair take for each person?
I plan an hour for my brides, & 25-35 minutes for every other person. If we have the time, it's always a good idea to have a 30 minute window at the end for wiggle room. I'll set, spray and touch up any pieces before i have to leave. I always like to factor in a little bit of buffer time for any mishaps that can happen.
10
I’m not sure if everyone in my party will want hair or makeup, when do you need to know?
Ideally we would like a confirmed number by the time of booking, this is so we can make sure we set aside the correct number of artists needed for your wedding!
11
How do I book your services for my wedding?
In order to book we require two things: a signed and completed contract and a $500 non-refundable retainer to officially put your wedding on our calendar! The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable and does go towards your wedding day total. Inquiries do not reserve your date, neither does booking only for a trial -due to our demand we are unable to inform clients when other inquiries are made about their event date. So we recommend booking as soon as you can.
12
What other fees should I be aware of?
Inner city venues require valet parking for all my team members. This parking fee will be paid 24-48 of your wedding date and sent to you by Venmo. If your location requires an overnight stay from us, then be prepared for a hotel cost to be added to the invoice. A 3% processing card fee as well, this can be avoided by paying with a check or cash or Venmo.
13
How far in advance should I book with you?
Due to our demand, we would say as soon as you know you want us as your beauty team!
14
How many ladies can you accommodate?
We can accommodate parties of all sizes! It mostly depends if we have other bookings for the same day and timeline.
15
Why should I book a professional hair and makeup service for my event?
While we understand that having your hair and makeup done is considered a luxury service, a professional hair and makeup artist will be able to ensure your hair and makeup will last all day and all night. You will look great in every light and angle -not to mention your easy task of sitting back and not having to worry to do your own hair and makeup! There’s a professional in any field, so trust us with your hair and makeup!
